January 2024
I cleverly managed to break my wrist at the beginning of December, so had my arm in plaster for most of January, which made most things a challenge.
I went to Paris with Mer Filmdistribusjon for the UniFrance Rendez-vous and it was great to catch up with other distributors, sales agents, and producers. At the end of the month (once the cast was off), I also went to the Göteborg International Film Festival where I participated in the Nordic Film Market and got to see a lot of exciting works in progress.
I watched several Sundance films, some of which I hope to be able to say more about in the future. To prepare for Göteborg I watched the Swedish Love is Blind on Netflix.
From what I read in January, there are three books that I would strongly recommend:
Brian by Jeremy Cooper
Spring Garden by Tomoka Shibasaki
What’s That Lady Doing by Lou Sanders
Listening-wise I mainly listened to The Rest is Football podcast.
